Bring the Family Together Lasagna
  • 1 box lasagna noodles
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • Oregano
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • 2 tbsp parsley
  • 1 quart jar homemade canned tomatoes or your preferred jarred sauce
  • 1 cup water, boiled
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 bag shredded mozzarella
  • 1 container reduced fat sour cream
  1. Preheat oven to 350.
  2. If you are making homemade sauce using canned tomatoes I had 1 quart jar to a food processor. I add some Italian seasoning like oregano, onion powder, garlic powder, and parsley to the mix. I blend and add to a medium size sauce pan.
  3. Bring to a boil.
  4. Boil one cup of water and add the cornstarch. Use a fork to mix. Add to the boiling sauce and whisk. The cornstarch will thicken the sauce.
  5. In a large stock pot, fill almost to the top with water and bring to a boil.
  6. While you are waiting for the water to boil, in a skillet add your ground beef and seasonings.
  7. Continue stirring the beef so that it is minced into small pieces.
  8. Once your water boils, turn down the heat a little and add your noodles.
  9. Cook according to directions.
  10. Once beef is done, set aside.
  11. Once noodles are done, drain and set aside.
  12. Using your preferred baking dish, be sure to grease it if its not stick.
  13. Starting with the bottom layer add noodles.
  14. Then sour cream.
  15. Then sauce.
  16. Meat.
  17. Cheese.
  18. Repeat.
