When I say I want to travel, I don’t necessarily mean I want to stay at resorts and go on tours with tour guides.
I don’t want to be a tourist. I don’t want to do tourist things like go in funky shops to buy key chains that aren’t going to spell my name right anyway.
When I say I want to travel, I mean, I want to explore. Not just here in my country, but others as well.
Not all, just some.
I want to be absorbed in the space.
My feet firmly planted on soil completely foreign to me.
I want to discover small coffee shops, old bookstores, and trails off the beaten paths.
I want to meet people who are not like me, but people who I can like just the same.
Coexisting is real.
I want to take pictures of things most people probably don’t care about, but I do.
I want my mind to be in constant awe of Mother Earth and everything the Universe has given me.
I want to see things with new eyes.
I want to roam.
I want to wander.
I want to drive to nowhere, and yet to me, it will be somewhere.
The most beautiful destination of my life.
I want to look at my map, because darn it I am going to buy a map, and be able to remember how I was transformed by the places I had been, the things I had seen, and the people I had met in my journey.
I want to come home and realize I am not coming home whole because I have left bits and pieces of myself in each place I had been. This, I think, is what is at the heart of my adventurous life and this is why I plan on making the rest of my life as adventurous as I can. ~ C
