My food journey
How it all started…
I’ve always enjoyed being in the kitchen and from an early age started to bake. I was about 11 when I made my first yeasted dough (they were traditional Czech cakes filled with poppy seeds ). I remember, that I was at home on my own and wanted to surprise my mum and my brother with something sweet, picked up a cookery book and decided to bake these cakes. We often bought them in the shop and they were always so good!
I’ve never made them before and I’ve never made yeasted dough in my life!I spend pretty much the whole day making them, but when they come out of the oven, they were exactly like the one from the shop and even better. My mum was joking, that she only believed me, that I made them, because she saw the state the kitchen was in and she knew I didn’t have enough pocket money to buy that many cakes!
Fast forward to current times and I find myself working day time at my chocolate business, called Cocoa & Heart, where I have fun experimenting with different flavours, designs and also teach other people how to make their own chocolate at home. Here on YUM eating blog, I wanted to start sharing my recipes, that I’ve been using over the years and also share with you new recipes with some healthy and delicious ingredients.
A lot of recipes on this blog are low in gluten, low in sugar and some are dairy free. You’ll find a lot of bread baking recipes, including sourdough. I’m trying to be healthy and create recipes that are gentle on digestive system and give me plenty of energy. But don’t worry, you will still find some traditional dishes, sweet treats and other yummy recipes here!
